Hydraulic system fluid contamination comes from many sources, including hose assemblies. Even the slightest trace of contamination can harm and shorten the life of your fluid system over time.
We perform continual testing in our gravimetric cleanliness testing lab to improve processes and ensure assemblies meet the highest level of cleanliness.
Contamination prevention measures used during hose assembly fabrication include:
- Wet cutting vs. dry cutting hose with sharp blades reduces hose dust and debris.
- Air flush and projectile cleaning to remove contamination from the assembly.
- Capping hose ends with flexible vinyl caps after production.
- Hose assemblies are either boxed or placed in returnable containers immediately to reduce exposure to airborne contamination.
- Hose assemblies are randomly tested in our gravimetric cleanliness lab to verify cleanliness measures.

During assembly, we have the ability to inkjet hoses with a part number, work instructions, clamp location mark, bar code, logo, manufactured date and much more. We can also label hoses with customer information. Other value-added services include kitting, returnable containers, point-of-use delivery, JIT and more.

When you order hydraulic hose assemblies from Oil-Air Products, we can pre-apply plastic sleeves that protect the hoses during painting. The sleeves are easily removed, leaving a clean finish after the paint dries.
